I really would like to improve in painting.  Here are some master copies of Sargent paintings, and some random practice paintings.  There are a lot of funny screw ups in these.  Enjoy.

So I'm back from the Comic-Con. What a great experience! It was my first time there and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I was able to meet and talk to a handful of talented artist that I admire. So cool! Anyways, this is a sketch I did while I was on a break from work. Still trying to improve my painting skills. Don't know if anyone can tell what the picture is but its some grass, flowers, and bushes beside a side walk with a shadow from a tree on the ground.

So I haven't painted much. I was just fooling around with some acrylic based gouache, gouache, and pastels on BFK paper. This a very rough piece!

Thanks to and extended deadline, I was able to get one drawing into Alberto Ruiz's Eye Candy 2.0! Surprisingly it was this first drawing posted.

MONSTER cowboy

So I was out for a drink (bbt) with a group of friends and we decided to cafe draw based on a theme. The first subject was a big guy that was sitting near us, and the theme was monster/cowboy. The second was a funny looking Asian lady, and the theme was assassin. I definitely put more thought into the cowboy, the Asian lady just looked too funny for any of us to concentrate!

Just playing around in photoshop. I saw a half tree on the bus while going home, that stuck in my head. BRAAAAGH

Clooouds

On my way home one day, I looked up at the sky. I saw clouds casting a shadow on each other and thought that looked cool. Although I didn't really capture that same effect, it is what inspired me to paint this piece. I'm not happy with what it is right now. The piece feels unfinished and too soft. But anyways I haven't posted in a while and thought I'd put this up.
